Acidic peels help to treat various skin problems. This is because they remove dead skin cells from the upper layer of the skin, promote skin renewal and leave the skin noticeably soft and wonderfully radiant. Skinderma's Salicylic Exfoliant Peeling combines the benefits of two different types of acid to improve the appearance of the skin and prepare it ideally for the application of nourishing active ingredients.
Salicylic acid is a real skin booster. It is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) and penetrates deeper into the skin layers than other acids. The organic acid removes excess sebum and dirt from the pores particularly effectively, removes dead skin cells from the upper skin layer, has an antiseptic effect and prevents new impurities and inflammation. It also stimulates collagen production and ensures a firm, fine, healthy and radiant complexion.
Azelaic acid is much less well known, but no less effective in the fight against blemishes. It is a dicarboxylic acid (DCA) and helps to open the pores and refine the skin's surface. It can also visibly improve the skin's appearance, reduce spots and other discolorations and create an even complexion. As a powerful antioxidant, DCA acid also reduces the factors in the skin that cause blackheads, redness and irritation.
Together, the two acids are ideal for ridding the skin of annoying impurities or calluses, smoothing fine lines and lightening unwanted pigmentation spots.
In addition to the two cleansing and skin-refining acids, allantoin is the third important active ingredient in Skinderma's peeling. It is formed from uric acid and supports the skin's healing processes. The active ingredient is known for its soothing, softening and skin-smoothing properties. It effectively reduces irritation and redness and promotes skin hydration. Allantoin can also activate cell renewal, making it a real anti-ageing hero!
