How does permanent laser hair removal work?
The laser system of the SkinTechBeauty 4W Model 2 uses the melanin contained in the hair. The color particles in the hair absorb the laser energy and guide it to the hair follicles.
Depending on which wavelength a laser device uses, only certain hair and skin types can be treated. With the SkinTechBeauty 4W diode laser model 2, however, you don't have this limitation because it uses four different wavelengths simultaneously and can therefore treat any hair that contains melanin (i.e. all natural hair colors except white/grey hair). The heat of the laser ensures that the activity of the hair root is terminated. This effect is only achieved on hair that is in the anagen phase - i.e. the growth phase. This corresponds to approx. 20 % of the hair in the application area per treatment. For this reason, laser hair removal always requires several applications. The treated hair falls out after laser irradiation and is no longer formed by the follicle - permanent hair removal has been achieved.
4 wavelengths enable the treatment of every skin type
The special feature of the 4W diode laser model 2 is already hidden in its name: The laser uses four wavelengths simultaneously for each treatment. This enables you to treat customers of all skin types and hair colors (except for white/grey hair) in your studio and help them achieve permanent hairlessness.
The four wavelengths offer different advantages, all combined in one handpiece:
The 755 nanometer wavelength (known as the alexandrite laser) has a more superficial effect and targets fine and/or light hair that is not deep in the skin.
For thicker hair, such as on the arms, legs and beard line, the well-known 808 nanometer wavelength (known as the diode laser) works excellently. It also achieves the best results on darker skin.
The 940 nanometer wavelength (also a diode laser) enables an additional, focused, thermal mode of action, which improves the treatment results and can also be used on (natural) red hair.
The device also uses a further wavelength of 1064 nanometers (the so-called Nd:YAG laser) to remove very dark skin and thick, deep-seated hair in a targeted and long-lasting manner. This makes it ideal for use in the intimate area and on the armpits.
