Protecting your eyes when using laser devices
Laser safety goggles are mandatory for laser hair removal, as you can only protect your eyes from damage with suitable protection.
With CE-certified Nd:YAG laser safety goggles, you can protect yourself and your customers from wavelengths in the 800-1700 nm range. Depending on the wavelength range, the goggles cover different protection levels:
800-1700 nm; (optical density) OD4+
900-1550 nm; (optical density) OD6+
In relation to the laser type (continuous wave, pulse, etc.):
- 800-1400 nm: Protection level for continuous wave, pulsed, giant pulse and mode-locked laser types (DIRM) LB4.
- 900-1400 nm: Protection level for continuous wave, pulsed, giant pulse and mode-locked laser types (DIRM) LB6.
- 1400-1700 nm: Protection level for continuous wave and pulsed laser types (DI) LB3.
These goggles have a light transmission of 18%. This means they dim the light very much to protect the eyes from the laser light. We recommend using a good light source in the application room to ensure good visibility.
