The three-dimensional skin model is a helpful tool if you want to illustrate your treatments to your customers. You can use the object to explain various cosmetic procedures and make it clear to your customers in which of the skin layers the treatment is carried out and what effect it has.
The skin is divided into three main layers:
- the epidermis is our outer skin.
- The dermis is the leather skin.
- The subcutis is the subcutaneous fatty tissue.
The epidermis is made up of further layers:
- horny layer
- shiny layer
- granular cell layer
- Spiny cell layer
- basal layer
The dermis is our nutrient center. With its connective tissue fibers and capillaries, it supplies the underlying tissue and our epidermis with sufficient nutrients. The subcutis forms the base for our overlying skin layers and contains the larger blood vessels and nerves. It also serves as a fat depot and insulates us from the cold.
