The principle is based on the color pigment melanin contained in the hair. Melanin can absorb the laser energy and conduct it to the hair root, where a thermal effect is triggered that terminates the activity of the follicle without damaging the surrounding tissue. The treated hair falls out naturally, but is not regenerated.
