Let go and relax - the art of massage with hot stones is more than two thousand years old. It was known for its extraordinary effectiveness in Chinese medicine as well as among Hawaiian and Indian shamans. Nowadays, hot stone massage is used as a soothing wellness treatment in hotels and studios as well as for therapeutic purposes by masseurs and physiotherapists.

Our natural wooden box contains a total of 22 stones of different sizes for treating the body and face. The natural stones are made of basalt of volcanic origin, have a smooth surface that is gentle on the skin and can store and radiate heat for a particularly long time.

A massage with natural stone calms, relaxes and stimulates blood circulation and metabolic processes in the tissue. The lymph flow and the immune system are stimulated and the removal of metabolic products is promoted. Muscle tension is released and pain is relieved. The heat-storing basalts also work wonders for chronically cold hands and feet.

Warm basalt provides deep and almost meditative relaxation and is also used to loosen mental and stress-related blockages.

Step-by-step instructions:

1. Preparing the stones:
   1. Place the "hot stone" stones in a stone heater or water bath.
   2. Heat the water to a temperature of 50-60°C. Make sure that the temperature is comfortable and safe for the skin.
   3. Leave the stones in the heater or water bath for about 20-30 minutes until they are evenly heated.
2. Preparing the massage area:
   1. Create a quiet, comfortable space that provides a relaxing atmosphere.
   2. Apply massage oil to the body to increase lubrication during the massage.
3. Application of the stones:
   1. Test the temperature: before placing the stones directly on the skin, check the temperature on your own hand to avoid burns.
   2. Placement: Start with the larger stones and place them on large muscle groups such as the back, shoulders and legs. You should place the stones gently on the skin and not apply too much pressure immediately.
   3. Change the stones: While some stones remain on the skin to promote deep relaxation, other stones can be used for the actual massage.
4. Performing the massage:
   1. Use smooth, flowing movements to glide the stones over the skin. The combination of heat and pressure relieves tension and promotes circulation.
   2. Start at the back, work your way down the arms and legs, and use smaller stones for finer areas such as the hands and feet.
5. Replace the stones:
   1. As soon as a stone cools down, replace it with a new, warmed stone. You can store the cooled stones in a towel to warm them up again later.
6. After the massage:
   1. Carefully remove the stones from the skin after the massage.
   2. Cover the body with a towel to retain the soothing warmth.
   3. The massage can be concluded with light manual strokes to intensify the relaxation.
      

Important notes:

• Always make sure to check the temperature of the stones to avoid burns.
• Use smaller stones with less pressure for sensitive areas.
• The massage should last around 60-90 minutes.
• After use, clean the stones thoroughly and allow them to dry before returning them to the wooden box.
