3D HIFU - A long-lasting effect with just one treatment

3D HIFU is a new application of ultrasound. With the help of high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), the skin layers are heated in a targeted manner right down to the depths.

At a depth of 1.5 - 16 mm, the sagging skin structure is significantly tightened by targeted heating (the so-called shrinking effect sets in).

This is a similar effect to that used in a surgical facelift. The release of energy triggers natural regeneration in the skin. This results in increased fibroblast activity, which reacts with the formation of new collagen and elastin.

The HIFU treatment delivers highly focused, intensive energy waves deep into the skin layers. The highly effective HIFU procedure originates from medical applications and is now an extremely popular treatment in apparative cosmetics, also known as a lunchtime lift.

The HIFU procedure ensures a quick lifting effect without downtime. The treatment works directly in the deep layers of the skin down to the SMAS layer without damaging the epidermis. A targeted tightening of the face, neck and décolleté is provoked.

Is the HIFU procedure safe?

The HIFU procedure itself has been used since the 1990s for non-invasive tumor therapy in oncology, among other areas, and is valued for its precision and safety. Specially adapted to the tissue layers of the skin, more and more devices have been developed for use in aesthetics in recent years. In contrast to conventional ultrasound devices used in cosmetics and physiotherapy, HIFU technology focuses the sound waves at a predefined depth in the target tissue. This focusing enables precise, short-term heating of the target tissue to approx. 50 - 70 C°, limited to the so-called "focus point".

The transducer built into the handpiece places a certain number of focal points in a row ("line") in the target tissue, e.g. in the subcutis, each time a button is pressed ("shot").

The depth at which the focal points are set ("focal depth") depends on the transducer, i.e. a treatment attachment can only set the line at a certain depth. To change the focal depth, a different attachment (cartridge) must be used.

The HIFU leads to targeted heating of the skin layers at different depths. There are 2 cartridges available for the face, with penetration depths of 1.5 mm and 4.5 mm.

In addition, there are 5 cartridges for the body, with penetration depths of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 13 mm and 16 mm.
