How does a class B autoclave work?

Unlike autoclaves of other classes, a type B autoclave uses pressure and steam technology. Steam is formed in a sealed sterilization chamber and then placed under extreme pressure, which causes the steam to reach even higher temperatures. Bacteria, pathogens and microorganisms are completely killed - and this applies to numerous materials.

Which instruments/materials is the class B autoclave suitable for?

For particularly easy operation, 6 preset sterilization programs are available. Alternatively, you can use the manual program to make the settings yourself.
The programs are specialized for the material properties of the tools and offer two temperature settings that allow you to fully sterilize different instruments:

2 Solid programs (121 °C or 134 °C)
Instruments made of firm, solid material such as forceps and scissors.

2 porous programs (121 °C or 134 °C)
For objects made of solid material such as tweezers and objects made of porous material such as textile products.

2 Hollow programs (121 °C or 134 °C)
For objects made of solid material such as tweezers, objects made of porous material such as textile products and hollow objects of type A and type B such as cannulas and tubes.

Here you can adjust the settings such as temperature, pressure level and sterilization time yourself.

If a material is not suitable for treatment at 134 °C, select the 121 °C variant.

Additional features for easy and safe operation

The programs and all settings can be selected and adjusted quickly and easily using the keypad. The display gives you a clear overview of everything and you can also check the progress during the sterilization process.

Meanwhile, an automatic safety system ensures that the internal temperature and pressure level do not rise too high. Otherwise, the system immediately switches off the device and interrupts the power supply.

If you would like to document the sterilization processes, you can activate the integrated printer, which prints out a report for each process.

Are you on the road but want to find your instruments fully sterilized when you return? Then use the autoclave's automatic start function! Simply select the day and time you want the device to start sterilization and you can look forward to fully treated instruments when you enter your studio or practice.

A truly worthwhile investment

In May 2024, a new hygiene regulation came into force in North Rhine-Westphalia, which could also be enforced in other federal states: Invasive instruments may only be sterilized with steam sterilizers of type-B autoclaves from May 2025.
