How permanent hair removal works with the 808 nm diode laser
The natural melanin contained in the hair plays a central role in permanent hair removal with lasers. The laser is absorbed by the color pigment and guided to the hair follicle, where the respective hair root is destroyed by the thermal effect of the laser. The skin and surrounding tissue are spared in the process.
After a few weeks at the latest, the treated hair falls out naturally and does not grow back.The laser can only achieve this effect on hair that is in the active growth phase (anagen phase). As this corresponds to up to 20 % of body hair, several treatments are always necessary to become completely hair-free.
The 808 nm wavelength of the D808 XS has a medium absorption via the melanin. For this reason, it is possible to treat skin types I-V according to Fitzpatrick and help achieve smooth, hair-free skin in just a few applications.
