The general effects of microneedling

Using ultra-fine needles, the AquaPen creates microscopic channels in the skin to significantly increase its absorption of active ingredients. During the treatment, various serums are used, the active ingredients of which penetrate through the channels into the deeper layers of the skin, where they take effect.

‘Opening’ the skin activates its self-healing process, which leaves the skin looking radiant. This enhanced regeneration helps to reduce various skin problems such as acne, pigmentation marks and scars.
At the same time, elastin and collagen production is stimulated, giving the skin greater firmness and elasticity whilst visibly reducing wrinkles and fine lines.

What makes the AquaPen special

As with most other microneedling pens, the AquaPen offers three needle types for treating various skin conditions:

The 12-needle tips feature 12 ultra-fine, 1.5 mm long stainless steel needles and are ideal for treating acne, pigmentation spots, (acne) scars and stretch marks.

The Nano-HR needle tips are used for moisturising, brightening, firming and refining pores. They feature 130 rounded needles, each 0.15 mm long.

The Nano-HS needle tips provide you with 81 silicone needles, each 0.1 mm long. These can be used to treat sensitive areas of skin, redness, as well as wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes.

In addition to their wide range of applications, the AquaPen’s needle tips stand out from other microneedling pens thanks to a special feature: the needle cartridges also act as liquid reservoirs with automatic serum application. The desired serums can be dispensed directly into the needle cartridges (up to 3 ml). In this way, the skincare product is delivered deep into the skin as the needles penetrate. This ensures up to a 90 per cent improvement in active ingredient absorption and prevents any wastage of the skincare serums.

Full control – from start to finish

As well as choosing between the needle cartridges and their respective treatment benefits, you can also adjust the penetration depth and speed of the needles.
Using the rotary dial with its handy scale, you can quickly and easily set how deep the fine needles should penetrate the skin. The range is from 0.1 to 1.0 millimetres.

The 6 available needle speed settings are designed for different applications:

2. Setting: Pore minimisation.
3. Setting: Reduction of wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes.
4. Setting: Lightening of pigmentation spots.
5. Setting: Reduction of acne scars.
6. Setting: Reduction of stretch marks.

The currently selected speed setting can be viewed at any time on the small screen on the AquaPen.
